REFERRING to your letter of the 3rd instant on the subject of the prevention of piracy on the West River, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, that a copy of your letter, with its inclosures, has been sent to the Commander-in-Chief, China, with directions to him to call on the Commanding Officers of His Majesty's vessels on the West River to forward reports and suggestions in accordance with the wishes expressed in the last paragraph of your letter.
